We will be staying in Jaco for 5 days and La Fortuna for 2 days at the Hotel Los Lagos Spa & Resort. From looking at your blogs we are still a little confused on which Zipline tour to take. If we do it while in La Fortuna, we have narrowed it down to either the Arenal Mundo Aventuras because of the waterfall or one of the SkyTrek tours. However, because we don’t have much time in that area we thought that we might pick one of the ones near Jaco. Adventure Park Costa Rica or Vista Los Suenos Adventure Park Zipline. I cannot find any information on either of those zipline tours on your blog. Have you been to either of them or heard of any comparisons to the other ones we were thinking of. Also, we will be visiting in the low season of mid November. What are the chances of ziplining tours being cancelled.

    Hi Ljpsh!

I highly recommend zip-lining in La Fortuna while you’re there. Together with the zip lines in Monteverde, they’re the best in the country.

That said, if your trip itinerary won’t allow you to squeeze in a zip-lining tour while in La Fortuna, you can certainly zip-line elsewhere in the country, as you note. I haven’t done the Vista Golfo (Adventure Park) or Vista Los Suenos zip lines recently, so I shouldn’t comment on their current services or offerings. I know Vista Los Suenos, near the popular beach town of Jaco, is a much more popular option (Vista Golfo is located in a more remote part of the country, and serves mainly cruise passengers arriving via the nearby port city of Puntarenas), and although the park tends to receive more visitors, crowds likely won’t be a problem for you in November, a part of the low season. The more pressing factor to consider is the tour’s distance from Jaco, where you plan to stay. Conveniently, Vista Los Suenos is about a 15-minute drive outside of Jaco. Vista Golfo (Adventure Park) is at least a 90-minute drive away, longer if you encounter traffic on the highway.

Rain is a valid concern. We do tend to receive rain in November, which can impact tour availability. It’s tough to say whether a tour will get canceled, but that goes for every tour on any given day of the year. Most zip-line tours run rain or shine, so the presence of rain isn’t a dealbreaker, but wind can be an issue. It’s what usually results in zip-line tour cancelations.
