We will be traveling mid-July are there any restrictions or concerns we should be aware of?
,NikkiKeymasterHey Jenny!
Thanks so much for your interest in DIY Costa Rica!
Unfortunately, much of Costa Rica is currently closed to tourism. 🙁 With the aggressive (and necessary) closing of the borders to tourists early on (in March), several attractions and businesses have been ordered closed, and others have chosen to close because the lack of tourists makes it financially difficult for them to stay open. Our hope is that the closures will be temporary, but no one knows yet how long the pandemic will last or how long the current policies will remain in effect. My best advice to you would be to keep an eye on Costa Rica’s ever-changing travel policies. Hopefully, the country will open up again by July. If it does, my fingers are crossed that the tourism businesses that have been badly hit by the closures will be able to reopen not long after.
Of course, as we get closer to your potential travel date, feel free to check in with us again to see what the latest news is!
