All DIY Costa Rica Recommendations › Forums › Our DIY Costa Rica Questions and Answers Forum › Alajuela–>La Fortuna – ideas/specific tour companies/guides/operators
We are a family of 4, with two children ages 8 and 11, travelling to Costa Rica for the first time in the last week of November. We arrive in Alajuela and plan to stay our first night there and head out first thing the next morning – the end destination for that day being La Fortuna and we want to reach there before sundown. We would like to go to Poas Volcano (my understanding is best to do so early in the morning) and La Paz waterfall gardens, and any other places you’d recommend. We are looking for recommendations for a private tour operator that could transport us from Alajuela to La Fortuna with the stops mentioned, and recommendations as to where else to stop, where to eat lunch, and any other recommendations based on the ages of our children. Also advice on whether we need specific guides for Poas Volcano and La Paz. Thank you!
